Motion-induced blindness demos

Klick on one of the three images to view an animated giff. We used a stimulus similar to the one on the left to study the effect of motion-induced blindness on the formation of negative afterimages (Consciousness & Cognition, in press). To best experience motion-induced blindness view the stimulus in a the dark and fixate the white symbol in the center of the stimulus. You can only experience the effect if your browser allows to display a smooth movement.
